At It’s Your Choice Activities Service, we believe meaningful activities have the power to change lives.
That is why we are proud to introduce Ramsgate Rising: Our Choice, Our Community, a dedicated programme designed to support adults with disabilities in Ramsgate through inclusive activities, creativity, movement and community connection.
This project has been created to give people opportunities to take part, develop confidence, express themselves and become active contributors to their local community.
What is Ramsgate Rising?
Ramsgate Rising is a specially designed enrichment programme that will deliver engaging and accessible sessions for vulnerable adults with disabilities across Ramsgate.
The programme focuses on providing activities that encourage participation, personal development and enjoyment while celebrating the town and the people who live within it.
Activities throughout the programme include:
Creative Arts Activities
Members will create artwork inspired by Ramsgate, allowing individuals to express themselves through painting, drawing and hands-on creative experiences.
Inclusive Sports and Physical Activities
Working alongside local professionals, participants will enjoy activities adapted to different abilities with a focus on movement, confidence and wellbeing.
Baking and Life Skills Sessions
Members will take part in simple baking and decorating activities designed to encourage independence, creativity and social interaction.
Music and Social Experiences
Live music and interactive sessions will provide opportunities for members to connect, sing, dance and enjoy shared experiences together.
Supporting Adults with Disabilities Through Inclusive Community Activities
Social isolation remains one of the biggest challenges faced by many adults with disabilities.
At It’s Your Choice Activities Service, our aim is to create an environment where people feel welcomed, supported and empowered.
This project supports adults by helping them to:
- Build confidence
- Form friendships
- Learn new skills
- Improve wellbeing
- Increase independence
- Feel connected to their local community
Since opening, It’s Your Choice has continued to grow and support more individuals through affordable and accessible activity provision in Ramsgate.
Celebrating Ramsgate Through Community
Ramsgate Rising is about more than activities.
It is about showcasing talent, celebrating inclusion and creating visible opportunities for people who are often underrepresented.
Members will take part in experiences that help tell the story of Ramsgate through creativity, participation and community spirit.
